Haji Lane has been a popular site for locals and tourist. It is often recognised as the hipster district of Singapore which is located next to the cultural Kampong Glam. But that's another place for another day! So what makes it so special? Well, I took the local MRT subway down to Bugis Station last Saturday to find out why.
At the start of the street, I am greeted by giant murals painted on the sides of a stretch of shophouses. These murals pay
tribute to the Malay culture of the area, as many Malays in traditional wear are depicted. A lot of tourists paused their
footsteps to get a picture with this beautiful piece of art.
As I got further in, I noticed immediately how each shop has its own individuality. Some potrayed themselves as bold and
attractive while others opted for a clean minimalistic look. But beyond these facades, greater things await...
The stores have a range of interesting merchandise to offer. How interesting?
What if you got to customise your own pair of flip-flops,
get hold of rare goods by local indie designers, or even print your selfie on coffee foam, only to "destroy" it at your own delight?

of arts, I would still recommend you to come down and see this modern beauty for yourself!
